Work with Shelby. Build the future of TV.
At Shelby, we love video. It’s the best way to tell a story, and it’s rapidly changing as the means of production evolve, as the distribution channels grow, and as audiences search for content that’s actually meaningful to them.**
Senior iOS Developer
When Apple releases their “TV”, our goal is to have one of the first 10 apps in the Apple TV App Store. We’re building the team to do that. Until real TV development can begin, the Shelby iOS team is creating a natural and fun video experience for iPad and iPhone, delivering personalized content alongside channels from the Shelby community. We’re looking for a Senior iOS Developer who wants to be a part of a small iOS team of excellent engineers who will change the nature of TV/video watching forever. The focus of the work is iOS development through which you will collaborate with API and web engineers, our designer, our marketing and community managers, and directly with the CTO and CEO.
Designer (Mobile + TV)
The screens around us are changing, as is the content we consume, and how it finds us on all four screens: phone, tablet, PC, and TV. Elegantly designing a product that delivers relevant context without cluttering the user experience is at the core of what we think about here at Shelby TV. We’re looking for a Senior Designer to immediately focus on our iPad app, and in the long run, think through the amazing experience we will deliver on the Apple TV. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our stellar iOS engineers, as well as our marketing and community managers, our existing designer, and our CTO and CEO.

Our product mission is to build a smart, personal way to enjoy all this video. We blend human context with powerful data processing to pull the signal from the noise, and we deliver it in an elegant experience across all four screens (phone, tablet, PC, TV).
Our goal as a company is to build a passionate organization of innovative people who seek hard problems, love to learn, and have fun along the way. We’re a tight team (10 people), we have a great startup office (ping pong table, beer fridge, whiteboards everywhere, and a shower), and we believe in a Maker’s Schedule (meetings != productivity).
Other fun stuff:
- Quarterly hackathons
- Flexible scheduling/WFH
- Healthcare, Dental, Vision
- Sriracha. Lots of sriracha.
*There are 72 hours of video uploaded to YouTube every minute. Yes, every minute.
*Today more video is uploaded to YouTube in a day than all 3 major US networks broadcast in the last 3 years.
**The average American watches ~5.3 hours of TV a day. …You may pick your jaw up off the floor now.
**We don’t really read Business Insider, but once in a while they nail it.
